Now there are Fixer Uppers and Major Rehabs. Unless you are experienced contractor, Major Rehabs can become an extreme headache.
Major Rehabs are properties that basically cannot be moved into to be lived in before repairs are completed. Fixer Uppers are properties that need updating, examples would be properties that are in need of updated flooring, painting, updating the currently usable kitchen and baths. Properties that can be moved into and updates over the time you are living there.
A good way to find these properties is looking for keywords like "estate sale" "needs tlc" "selling as is" "updating needed" "seller can make no repairs" on the description. Also, look at the pictures, and if there are very few or no pictures of the interior, it's a big clue it needs work.
