Finding the right home at the right price continues to be a problem for house hunters across the country. The supply of available homes is tight in our area, and as the economy improves, the demand is only going to be increasing. If you have been keeping track, homes prices are going up, especially if the home has improvements.
So, what is the price challenged home buyer to do? An alternative might be to consider buying a home that does not have everything you want, but checks a few of the boxes you are looking for and potential to become what you want. Yes, a Fixer Upper!
Now there are Fixer Uppers and Major Rehabs. Unless you are experienced contractor, Major Rehabs can become an extreme headache.
Major Rehabs are properties that basically cannot be moved into to be lived in before repairs are completed. Fixer Uppers are properties that need updating, examples would be properties that are in need of updated flooring, painting, updating the currently usable kitchen and baths. Properties that can be moved into and updates over the time you are living there.
A good way to find these properties is looking for keywords like "estate sale" "needs tlc" "selling as is" "updating needed" "seller can make no repairs" on the description. Also, look at the pictures, and if there are very few or no pictures of the interior, it's a big clue it needs work.
Finding these types of properties are searchable on my website www.kathymckinney.com. Let me know if you would like for me to set up a custom search for you, email the area and other particulars you would like to email@example.com.
What About Home Inspections on a Foreclosure Property when it say
"Working with eXp Realty was a pleasure. When we started, we had no idea what we wanted, but our buyer agent helps us figure out the pros and cons of all our options. Our agent went the extra mile willing to put in the extra effort to answer our questions, to make sure we were happy with our decisions, and educated about the market and local area."
